• Not much to report on the diet, in fact a complete washout at the moment. A new start is now planned for Monday 9th February starting with a weigh in.

  • I just got myself a great new job that’s really going to help with my goal of losing some weight. Only problem is that the job is only temporary for the next 4 weeks at the moment and the way the economy is at the moment I dont think they are looking for permanent staff.

    So what is this new job and how does it help with my weight loss program? Well I have been taken on by an office furniture company to to deliver and install office furniture, oddly enough! Now it doesnt sound like the best job in the world and it sure is tiring. And that’s the key to how it helps my weight loss program. Moving office furniture is hard physical work. Desks, office filing cabinets and pedestals can be very heavy. If you have every tried to lift a 180lb wooden filing cabinet up a flight of stairs you will soon realise that it is not easy, even if you have 2 people to lift it! One filing cabinet is bad enough but I had to deliver 8 today so that is a pretty good workout, by anybody’s standards.

    The good thing about the job is the exercise and working in different places. The bad thing is the pay and the early starts that we have to travel a long way beat the traffic. Oh well a job is a job I suppose!

  • Starting weight on Tuesday 20th January is 190.2 lbs according to my trusty digital bathroom scales.  My target weight is 160 lbs. So 15 weeks losing 2 lbs per week should give a schedule for the next 3 weeks as follows

    27th January - Target 188 lbs

    03rd February - Target 186 lbs

    10th February  - Target 184lbs

    Question is exactly how am I going to lose this weight? Increased exercise? Reduced food intake? I think I will have to concentrate on the latter at the moment due to pressure of work commitments. So basically I need to keep my intake down. As of tomorrow I will be eating a bowl of breakfast cereal, then being careful with daytime eating and finally eat an evening meal without eating too much else. Lets see how I get on.

  • Well the intentions were there, but so far this year I have ben working my oversized butt off with a ridiculous workload. Working morning, day and night is not condusive to running a sensible diet. I need to start knuckling down otherwise this diet is gonna take a long time. I’m off to Rome in Italy at the end of March 2009 and it would be nice to be a bit slimmer by the time I get there! But hey, it’s Saturday today so the diet can start on Monday!

  • Well 2009 is upon us, and my birthday was a couple of days ago so time to set to set out my goals to lose some weight this year.  After the Christmas binge I am currently weighing in at 190 lbs. My target weight is 158 lbs, so thats 32 lbs to lose so at 2lbs per week that’s gonna take me 16 weeks.  I am gonna lose this weight by a mixture of calorie controlled dieting and an exercise regime but the weather is very cold at the moment!
